An association dinner has members of many ages, guests of honour and a committee that wants to be present everywhere. The seating plan helps balance all of this.

Step by step

  1. List of members and guests

Note who is coming and which group they belong to: committee, founding members, members, guests.

  2. The committee table

The committee sits at a prominent table, facing the room. The guests of honour sit alongside.

  3. Tables by affinity

Bring together members who share activities or sections. Conversation will flow more naturally.

  4. Mix new and old

If the dinner is a way of welcoming new members, spread them across tables with longer-standing members.

  5. Create the plan

Choose “Association dinner”: the template comes with the committee table and rectangular tables or an imperial one.

Long tables

In a community hall, long tables make better use of the space. The table calculator works with rectangular and imperial tables.

Tributes and awards

If there will be tributes or an awards presentation, seat the honourees near the stage or the microphone, so they can get there without crossing the room.

Frequently asked questions

How many seats does an imperial table have?

It depends on the length and the space between chairs. The calculator has reference values, but always check with the venue.

Can the plan be used for the minutes or the programme?

Seatalia exports the plan as a PDF and the A–Z list for you to put up at the entrance.
